Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for New York City point to northwest flow and partial overnight clearing after Wednesday-Thursday showers, supporting minimum temperatures mainly in the upper 60s to low 70s on September 4. Persistent humidity and dew points near 65–70°F limit radiative cooling, while light winds (5–10 mph) and variable cloud cover introduce modest uncertainty in the exact low. Historical September 4 averages near 65°F provide context, yet current steering patterns and moisture favor readings several degrees above that baseline. Traders appear to weigh these factors against potential model shifts in the final forecast updates before midnight observations determine the outcome.
