Taro Daniel enters the Croatia Open qualification on clay as the clear favorite against doubles specialist Wesley Koolhof, reflecting Daniel’s recent strong form on the surface including a Bratislava Challenger title and multiple wins in Iasi. Koolhof, now focused almost exclusively on doubles at age 37, brings limited recent singles activity and less clay-specific experience in this format. The matchup pits Daniel’s baseline consistency and movement against Koolhof’s net skills, with the red-clay conditions and qualification stakes amplifying the importance of current fitness and match sharpness for both players. No major injuries or withdrawals have altered the field.
