Kris Mayes, the Democratic incumbent, leads Republican nominee Warren Petersen in trader consensus for the November 3, 2026, Arizona attorney general race, reflecting her edge in recent polling and structural advantages. Mayes won her 2022 contest by just 280 votes after a recount and ran unopposed in the July 2026 Democratic primary, while Petersen secured the Republican nomination by defeating Rodney Glassman. August surveys from sources including Noble Predictive Insights and HighGround show Mayes ahead by 6–8 points among likely voters, with independents favoring her and high undecided shares persisting. Petersen’s legislative record and emphasis on aligning with federal priorities contrast with Mayes’ record of legal actions against certain Trump administration policies, shaping the contest’s dynamics ahead of Election Day.
