Recent polls for the September 20 Berlin state election show the AfD consistently at 17-18 percent, ahead of the Greens at 16 percent, reflecting the AfD’s near-doubling of its 2023 result amid broader national gains. The party’s strong performance in the September 6 Saxony-Anhalt election has reinforced momentum, with AfD candidate Kristin Brinker emphasizing spending cuts and immigration priorities. Other parties maintain a strict firewall against AfD coalitions, limiting its governing prospects but not its vote share. The Greens, led by Werner Graf and Bettina Jarasch, trail slightly in the latest surveys from INSA, Forschungsgruppe Wahlen, and Infratest dimap, with no major late shifts reported in the final days before the vote. Trader consensus aligns with these polling trends favoring higher AfD support.
