The Berlin state election scheduled for September 2026 will determine the next governing mayor through a vote in the House of Representatives, with current trader consensus assigning Elif Eralp of Die Linke the highest implied probability near 49 percent, followed by CDU candidate Stefan Evers near 35 percent. Incumbent Kai Wegner’s withdrawal in July opened the CDU slot for Evers, the state finance senator, consolidating party support but leaving the race competitive against Eralp’s established profile. Werner Graf of the Greens and smaller-party contenders such as Kristin Brinker trail further behind. Coalition arithmetic, turnout in key districts, and any late shifts in polling among the major blocs remain the primary variables that could widen or narrow the gap before election night.
