Persistent marine layer and onshore flow are suppressing San Francisco highs for September 3, with official forecasts from NWS and models showing mid-60s °F under mostly cloudy skies and 40-50% drizzle or light rain chances—well below the 69.7 °F climatological average. Trader consensus clustering on 68-71 °F bins reflects uncertainty in layer depth and any late-day clearing, while lower outcomes price in stronger cooling if the weak system lingers. Key differentiators include wind direction shifts that could enhance or erode the inversion and timing of any brief sunshine, with resolution hinging on the official daily maximum recorded at downtown stations. Updated model runs through September 2 will likely refine these probabilities ahead of the event.
