This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 1 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Recent forecasts for Hong Kong on September 1 point to a daytime maximum near 30–31°C, with market odds closely split because models show modest variability in peak timing amid widespread cloud cover and showers. A broad low-pressure trough over the northern South China Sea is driving atmospheric instability, favoring scattered thunderstorms that can deliver brief cooling through downdrafts or allow brief sunny intervals to push readings higher. High humidity (dew points near 25–26°C) and northeasterly winds of 10–20 km/h further moderate extremes by limiting surface heating while sustaining muggy conditions. Official Hong Kong Observatory guidance and updated global model runs over the next day will clarify whether convection suppresses the peak below 31°C or permits a brief spike to that threshold.
