In the ATP Challenger Mauthausen semifinals on clay, Austrian wild card Lukas Neumayer enters with momentum after straight-sets victories over Chun-Hsin Tseng, seeded Tomas Barrios Vera, and Laslo Djere without dropping a set, leveraging home-crowd support in nearby Salzburg. Roman Safiullin, ranked slightly higher at No. 176 versus Neumayer's No. 195, advanced by defeating qualifier Cezar Cretu, upsetting No. 2 seed Titouan Droguet in three sets, and qualifier David Jorda Sanchis, though dropping two sets en route. With no head-to-head history, Safiullin's greater experience and peak ranking of No. 36 contrast Neumayer's flawless tournament run and clay familiarity, setting up a competitive clash where fatigue from longer matches could factor for the veteran Russian.
