Dalton Eatherly, known online as Chud the Builder, faces pending attempted murder and related felony charges in Tennessee following a May 2026 courthouse shooting in Clarksville, where authorities allege he fired at a disabled veteran during a confrontation captured on surveillance. He posted $1 million bond and was released in mid-August 2026 with additional misdemeanor matters in Davidson County unresolved. No trial date has been set, and court records show Eatherly has asserted self-defense while livestreaming post-incident statements. The early procedural stage, standard presumption of innocence, and typical timelines for felony prosecutions in Montgomery County explain trader consensus that conviction remains unlikely in the near term absent rapid plea developments or new evidence.
