Persistent high pressure over the southern Plains and minimal cloud cover or precipitation chances support peak temperatures in the low-to-mid 100s°F across Austin on August 26, with National Weather Service forecasts centering on 103–105°F amid an ongoing Heat Advisory. Recent model consensus and observations from the prior week of triple-digit readings, including record 107°F readings at Camp Mabry, reinforce trader focus on the 102–105°F bins, where small differences in afternoon mixing, dewpoint trends, or subtle steering flow could shift the daily maximum by 1–2°F. Urban heat island effects and light southerly winds further elevate surface readings relative to rural analogs, while any late-day convection remains unlikely to cap the high before official measurement. Updated NWS and ensemble guidance over the next 24 hours will refine these thresholds ahead of resolution.
