National Weather Service forecasts for Los Angeles on September 6 point to a high near 78°F under mostly cloudy skies with a 50% chance of showers and possible thunderstorms, driven by a strengthening marine layer and onshore flow that limits daytime heating. This aligns closely with the 1991–2020 climatological average high of 76.5°F at Los Angeles International Airport and follows recent days with maxima in the mid- to upper 70s. Ensemble model consensus shows modest warming potential inland but caps coastal peaks due to cloud cover and precipitation timing, creating the narrow uncertainty range reflected in current market-implied odds favoring 78–79°F. Updated NWS briefings and final model runs on September 5–6 will determine the precise daily maximum used for resolution.
