The Chicago Cubs head into their interleague series finale against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field amid a scorching hot streak, marking the fourth season since 1901 with multiple double-digit winning stretches after securing a 7-1 victory in Friday's opener. Both clubs grapple with depleted pitching rotations and bullpens on the injured list—Cubs missing Justin Steele (elbow surgery), Matthew Boyd (knee), Jordan Wicks (forearm), and relievers like Caleb Thielbar (hamstring) and Daniel Palencia (lat); Rangers without Jacob deGrom, Max Scherzer, Nathan Eovaldi, Cody Bradford (UCL), and position players Josh Jung and Wyatt Langford. Probable starters like Edward Cabrera (unbeaten for Cubs) and Jack Leiter (5.45 ERA for Rangers) highlight matchup volatility, with Cubs' momentum clashing against Rangers' home-field edge and top performers like Jung driving trader focus on bullpen depth and late-inning execution.
