Pittsburgh Pirates host the Colorado Rockies in the rubber match of their three-game series at PNC Park, following a split with the Pirates' 3-1 opener win behind Paul Skenes' eight innings of two-hit ball and 10 strikeouts, countered by Rockies' 10-4 explosion yesterday via Mickey Moniak's three hits and Antonio Senzatela's quality start. Pirates (23-20, fourth in NL Central) enter with home-field edge and stronger record against struggling Rockies (17-26, last in NL West), but face spot starter Mason Montgomery (1-0, 2.87 ERA) versus Chase Dollander (3-2, 3.35 ERA, fresh off 5.2 innings of two runs). Key absences include Pirates catcher Joey Bart (foot infection, 10-day IL) and Rockies' Ryan Feltner (tricep) plus Kris Bryant (back).
