The Minnesota Twins hold a 2-0 series lead over the Washington Nationals entering Thursday's rubber match at Nationals Park, fueled by Taj Bradley's eight strikeouts in an 11-3 opener win on May 5 and Bailey Ober's solid six innings on May 6. Today's matchup pits struggling Twins righty Simeon Woods Richardson (0-5, 6.49 ERA) against Nationals right-hander Jake Irvin (1-4, 4.93 ERA), with Minnesota's offense clicking via Byron Buxton's three-run homer. Both clubs sit around 16-20 overall—Twins fifth in AL Central, Nationals mired in NL East mediocrity with a 4-13 home mark—amid pitching injuries like Twins' Joe Ryan (elbow) and Nationals' Max Kranick (elbow surgery). Partly cloudy skies and mild 68°F temps pose no delays.
