The upcoming *The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping* opens November 20, 2026, with Francis Lawrence directing his fifth entry in the franchise and a screenplay adapted from Suzanne Collins’ bestselling 2025 novel. Recent full trailers and a September featurette have highlighted Joseph Zada as young Haymitch Abernathy alongside an ensemble including Ralph Fiennes as President Snow, Elle Fanning as young Effie Trinket, Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, and Glenn Close, plus reported cameo appearances by Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. The film’s $170–200 million budget, IMAX release, and companion album led by Noah Kahan’s single reflect Lionsgate’s substantial marketing push following the solid performance of *The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes*. With no critic reviews available yet, trader focus centers on franchise continuity, trailer reception, and historical precedent for the series’ critical reception once embargoed reviews arrive closer to opening weekend.
