This market will resolve to "Yes" if IMAX, Universal Pictures, or an authorized theatrical distributor officially announces an extension of the 70mm IMAX run of "The Odyssey" beyond its current end date of September 16, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The extension must be officially announced between this market's creation date and September 16, 2026, 11:59 PM ET to qualify. A one-time special, encore, private, or otherwise isolated screening will not qualify. The regular public 70mm IMAX theatrical run must be extended beyond September 16, 2026 to qualify. If only the standard digital IMAX run (not the 70mm film format) is extended, this market will resolve to "No". An official extension announcement made within the qualifying window will immediately resolve this market to "Yes". The resolution sources for this market will be official announcements from IMAX Corporation, Universal Pictures, or other authorized theatrical distributor.**Strong ongoing demand for the limited IMAX 70mm format continues to drive trader sentiment toward a second extension of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey.”** The film opened July 17, 2026, on roughly 25 U.S. screens capable of projecting 70mm film—the largest and highest-resolution format available—and quickly sold out weeks in advance at many venues. Universal and IMAX responded by extending the initial mid-August run through September 16, adding daily showtimes in response to the frenzy. This mirrors the pattern seen with Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” which received multiple 70mm extensions and later returns due to persistent audience interest. With only a small number of compatible projectors worldwide and no competing 70mm commitments until mid-December, exhibitors have incentive to keep “The Odyssey” on those screens as long as tickets move. Recent reports confirm continued sell-outs and digital queues even after the first extension, while IMAX leadership has publicly noted that 70mm screenings would likely continue for months. Traders appear to weigh these supply constraints and proven demand signals more heavily than the finite window before other titles claim the screens, producing the current 66.5% market-implied probability that another extension will be announced. Key near-term catalysts include weekly ticket sales data and any official IMAX or theater-chain updates on September availability.
