McCartney Kessler holds a clear edge over Renata Zarazua in their Strasbourg qualifying matchup on clay, backed by a 3-0 head-to-head record that includes a 7-6(3), 6-3 win in last year’s edition. Ranked No. 50, Kessler arrives with recent clay form from the Rome Open, where she secured victories before a first-round loss in Paris, while compiling a 10-8 record in 2026. Zarazua, at No. 75 with a 17-13 mark this season, has posted solid clay results but continues to struggle against higher-ranked opponents in direct meetings. The surface favors longer rallies, where Kessler’s recent consistency and experience in similar warm-up events could prove decisive ahead of the French Open swing.
