Etcheverry enters as the clear favorite in this Wimbledon first-round grass-court matchup, holding the No. 32 ranking and a 21-14 record in 2026 that includes a title, while Sonego sits at No. 72 with a 5-8 mark. The Argentine’s stronger recent results and prior Wimbledon experience give him the edge in a debut meeting, though both players have shown mixed grass form heading into the event—Etcheverry after an Eastbourne loss and Sonego following limited success in Mallorca and Halle. No head-to-head history exists, and neither faces confirmed injury concerns, keeping focus on ranking gap, surface adaptation, and early-tournament momentum as the primary drivers of trader pricing.
