Alexander Zverev, the top seed and fresh off his 2026 Roland Garros title, faces lower-ranked Vit Kopriva in the Halle Open round of 32 on grass. Zverev’s powerful serve, heavy groundstrokes, and prior success at this German home event create a significant edge on the fast surface, where he transitions from clay with strong recent momentum. Kopriva, ranked near No. 65 with a career high of 55, has posted solid clay results including Madrid runouts, yet lacks comparable grass pedigree or head-to-head history against elite opponents. The matchup pits Zverev’s experience and physical tools against Kopriva’s mobility and flat hitting, though the sizable ranking gap and surface favor the German’s consistency in best-of-three sets.
