California's 3rd Congressional District top-two primary on June 2 features a crowded field after Proposition 50 redistricting shifted the suburban Sacramento-area seat from Republican-leaning to safe Democratic, with 39% Democratic voter registration. Incumbent Ami Bera (D), relocating from CA-06, leads alongside challengers like county supervisors Heidi Hall (D) and Robb Tucker (R), Army veteran Chris Bennett (D), financial investigator Christine Bish (R), radio host Lyndon Cervantes (D), community rep Laura Koscki (R), and Green Chris Richardson. Absent a unified Democratic endorsement, the second general election spot remains competitive between GOP contenders and Democratic also-rans amid early voting, where Republicans show narrow ballot return leads despite the partisan tilt. Trader consensus reflects Bera's incumbency edge and Tucker's local profile in this low-turnout primary.
