Recent official forecasts from METMalaysia and multiple global models indicate a daytime high of 33–34°C for Kuala Lumpur on September 21, consistent with the market’s leading probabilities for those outcomes. Persistent high humidity, light winds, and a 60–80% chance of afternoon thunderstorms and cloud cover are expected to moderate peak temperatures by limiting solar heating. Recent September observations show daily maxima clustered between 31–34°C, with occasional spikes to 36°C under clearer conditions, but current steering patterns and model consensus favor typical convective suppression rather than extreme heat. Updated model runs and official briefings ahead of the 21st will be the key near-term catalysts for any shifts in trader-implied odds.
