The June 2026 U.S.-brokered trilateral framework agreement established two limited pilot zones—one south of the Litani River and a small area north—for phased IDF redeployment tied to verifiable Hezbollah disarmament and Lebanese Armed Forces deployment, rather than fixed timelines. Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, have stressed retention of the broader security buffer until threats are eliminated, with further withdrawals sequenced through a military coordination group only after third-party confirmation of non-state actor disarmament. As of mid-September 2026, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir reaffirmed that forces would maintain forward positions south of the Litani to prevent Hezbollah rebuilding, citing insufficient Lebanese army effectiveness. Ongoing strikes, Hezbollah rejection of the deal, and scheduled October talks continue to shape assessments of any broader pullback.

For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River, regardless of if some specified territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice.
The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.
