Recent polling shows the Parti Québécois holding a narrow lead for first place ahead of the Coalition Avenir Québec, leaving the Parti Libéral du Québec, CAQ, and Parti Conservateur du Québec closely bunched for third in popular vote projections. The PLQ’s support has declined notably among francophones while remaining concentrated in Montreal and among non-francophone voters, whereas CAQ gains appear to draw from both PLQ and undecided respondents in regional ridings. PCQ maintains steady but lower backing, particularly in certain rural and suburban areas. This distribution keeps third-place probabilities tightly clustered, with separation likely to hinge on turnout differentials, late-campaign shifts in francophone preferences, and how effectively each party consolidates its core regional and linguistic voter bases before the October 5 vote.
