Avengers: Doomsday leads market-implied odds for the second-biggest 2026 domestic opening at 57.5% due to its record-shattering presales exceeding $50 million three months before the December 18 release, fueled by multiverse crossover hype, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, and MCU event positioning that tracks toward $260–300 million. Spider-Man: Brand New Day sits at 41.5% after posting the all-time second-highest opening of roughly $360 million in July, establishing a high bar that later releases must clear. Multiple other titles hover near 50% amid uncertainty over final tracking, while Dune: Messiah, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, and Toy Story 5 register minimal support given lower anticipated starts and historical patterns for their franchises. Key catalysts include Doomsday’s holiday weekend competition with Dune: Part Three and any late marketing surges that could shift presale trajectories before year-end box office locks.
