Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate a high temperature in the upper 60s to near 70°F for Chicago on September 20, driven by persistent northeast winds off Lake Michigan behind a frontal passage, widespread cloud cover, and showers that limit daytime heating. These conditions are suppressing temperatures several degrees below the late-September climatological average of 74°F, with forecast highs clustered around 66–70°F. Trader consensus reflected in the 54.5% implied probability for 68–69°F and 26% for 70–71°F aligns with this consensus outlook from official sources, while lower-probability bins capture residual uncertainty in exact maximum readings amid variable precipitation timing. No major model shifts have occurred in the past 24 hours.
