Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Houston indicate a high near 91°F on September 9 amid mostly sunny conditions, easterly flow, and a 40-50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms that could limit peak heating through cloud cover and evaporative cooling. This aligns with the late-summer climatological average of 90.5°F while reflecting modest suppression from increased moisture and weak steering patterns that favor scattered convection rather than strong subsidence. Trader emphasis on the 88-89°F bin as the modal outcome incorporates uncertainty in storm timing and intensity, which official models show could shave several degrees from the daily maximum depending on convective initiation. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will refine these probabilities ahead of market resolution.
