**Official National Weather Service observations confirm downtown Los Angeles reached a maximum of 105°F on September 9, 2026, tying the daily record and far exceeding the 96°F market threshold.** This outcome reflects a strong upper-level high-pressure ridge that suppressed cooling, amplified by elevated humidity from Hurricane Marie’s remnants, which produced oppressive heat across the Southland. Multiple stations reported highs of 99–108°F, consistent with model guidance and climatological patterns for late-summer heat waves in the Los Angeles basin. With the date now passed and verified data in hand, trader consensus at 100% for 96°F or higher aligns directly with these measurements. Only an improbable post-hoc revision to official records could shift resolution.
