This market will resolve to "Yes" if there have been the specified amount or more confirmed cases of Measles (Rubeola) in humans in the territory of the United States of America in 2026 according to the CDC case counter between January 1, 2026, 12:00 AM ET and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter (see: https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/index.html) at the resolution time. If the counter becomes unavailable, another credible source will be used. Note: Only cases reported by the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter will qualify, regardless of reports from U.S. State agencies or other sources. As of early August 2026, the CDC has confirmed 2,465 measles cases nationwide, already surpassing the 2,289 total for all of 2025 and marking the highest annual figure since 1991. This surge stems primarily from 38 ongoing outbreaks, with 94% of cases outbreak-associated and concentrated in under-vaccinated communities where coverage falls below the 95% threshold required for herd immunity against this highly contagious virus (basic reproduction number 12–18). Recent CDC weekly updates show continued weekly additions of dozens of cases, mostly among children and linked to domestic transmission rather than imports. Traders should monitor upcoming CDC surveillance reports, state health department notifications, and the current elimination-status review by the CDC advisory committee, as sustained transmission through fall and winter could push totals substantially higher depending on vaccination campaigns and school-year contact patterns.
