Older women voters remain closely divided heading into the 2026 midterms, with Republican and Democratic candidates polling within a point or two in recent generic ballot surveys among those 50 and older. Economic pressures, including inflation, affordability, and concerns over Social Security and Medicare, have narrowed earlier Republican advantages among seniors while Democratic messaging on entitlements and tariffs resonates with portions of this group. High turnout rates among voters 65 and older amplify their influence, yet polling from Pew and AARP shows no decisive partisan consolidation. Upcoming developments such as candidate debates on entitlement reforms, new economic data releases, or targeted campaign spending in battleground states could widen the gap by shifting undecided or swing voters in this demographic.
