The 27-year-old Australian sits near No. 1140 with several years of professional futures experience, while the 20-year-old Slovenian remains lower-ranked and is transitioning from junior and collegiate tennis at Alabama. Recent results show O'Connell competing regularly on the ITF circuit with mixed outcomes, whereas Kriznik's limited senior record leaves surface-specific form and physical endurance as open variables. The hard-court setting favors established baseline games, and any late withdrawals or fatigue from the short tournament turnaround could further influence the outcome in this early-round matchup.
