The 2026 NCAA Division I passing touchdowns race sits in an unusually tight cluster of implied probabilities because the season has only just begun, leaving outcomes highly dependent on early offensive production, supporting casts, and schedule strength across power-conference programs. Quarterbacks such as Julian Sayin at Ohio State, Jayden Maiava at USC, Trinidad Chambliss at Ole Miss, Arch Manning at Texas, and CJ Carr at Notre Dame enter with elite weapons and proven efficiency from prior campaigns, while others like Caden Veltkamp at Florida Atlantic carry volume-based momentum from record-setting 2025 numbers in a less competitive environment. Week 1 results have produced scattered multi-touchdown outings without establishing separation, and factors including offensive line health, receiver availability, and defensive matchups remain fluid. This setup keeps the field wide open, with no single signal-caller holding a decisive edge in the wisdom-of-crowds pricing.
