OpenAI’s confidential S-1 filing in June 2026 and latest private valuation of $852 billion from its record $122 billion March funding round set the baseline for IPO pricing expectations. Traders are monitoring revenue growth—recently reported near $2 billion monthly with enterprise comprising over 40%—against persistent unprofitability and heavy AI infrastructure spending that could pressure margins at debut. Sam Altman’s push for a $1 trillion target contrasts with advisers favoring a 2027 listing after SpaceX’s post-IPO share decline, introducing timing risk that could compress or support the closing market cap depending on broader tech sentiment and Treasury yields. A secondary $7 billion tender offer recently provided liquidity without altering fundamentals.
