Chen Su-yueh holds a commanding lead in the Changhua County magistrate race as the Democratic Progressive Party nominee, reflecting the party's organizational strength and her established local legislative record in the district. Kuomintang efforts to select a challenger have centered on Wei Ping-cheng after other potential contenders like Liu Ho-jan declined, leaving the opposition field fragmented. Independent bids, notably from former DPP Changhua mayor Chiu Chien-fu following his party resignation, along with lower-profile entrants such as Hung Jung-chang, further dilute non-DPP support. Trader pricing aligns with these structural dynamics ahead of the November 2026 local elections, where nomination clarity and party machinery typically shape outcomes more than late swings.
