Robert Sprague holds a modest lead in trader consensus for the Ohio Secretary of State race due to the state's Republican lean and his background as state treasurer, which provides broad name recognition ahead of the November 3 general election. Allison Russo, the Democratic nominee and former House minority leader, trails as both candidates emphasize election administration and security in recent appearances. The contest remains competitive because Ohio voters have shown willingness to support experienced statewide officials from either party in down-ballot races, with limited polling data leaving room for shifts based on turnout among key voting blocs. A Libertarian candidate further fragments the field, while upcoming campaign events could influence probabilities before Election Day.
