Katharina Pötter, the CDU incumbent serving since 2021, enters the September 27 runoff as the clear frontrunner after securing 42.2 percent in the September 13 first round. Volker Bajus of the Greens advanced as runner-up with 22.3 percent, while SPD candidate Robert Alferink took third at 17.1 percent and the remaining contenders trailed further behind. Pötter's established record on local projects, combined with the typical consolidation of non-Green votes in a head-to-head contest, underpins trader consensus on her strong position. The short interval before the runoff limits scope for major shifts, though turnout patterns and late endorsements could still influence the final margin in this direct mayoral vote.
