Recent polls for Berlin's September 20 state election show Die Linke leading at 19-22%, with CDU and AfD clustered closely behind at 17-20% and Grüne near 16%, creating volatility in second-place positioning. The CDU's position softened after Mayor Kai Wegner's July candidacy withdrawal, while AfD support has edged higher amid broader eastern German momentum and national trends favoring the party on migration and economic issues. Linke gains reflect dissatisfaction with the incumbent CDU-SPD coalition's performance. Trader consensus prices CDU slightly ahead of AfD for second place, reflecting narrow polling margins that could shift with turnout among urban swing voters or final-week campaign events before the vote.
