**Recent National Weather Service and private model updates have shifted expectations toward a brief heat wave for San Francisco on September 9, driven by weakened onshore flow and reduced marine-layer cooling that typically caps coastal highs.** This setup favors greater diurnal warming under mostly clear or partly cloudy skies, with forecast highs clustering in the mid-to-upper 80s and some guidance reaching the low 90s. Trader consensus reflected in the tight 90–93 °F band aligns with the latest runs emphasizing subsidence warming and lighter winds that limit the usual San Francisco Bay sea-breeze moderation. Key variables still in play include the exact timing of any afternoon clearing and boundary-layer moisture, which could alter the peak by a degree or two before official observations are finalized.
