Trader consensus on Polymarket heavily favors a prolonged handshake of 15 seconds or more at 57.5% between President Trump and President Xi Jinping during their Beijing summit, driven by their recent 27-second greeting at the October 2025 APEC summit in Busan, South Korea, where they held a nearly two-hour bilateral meeting yielding positive trade outcomes. Trump's arrival in Beijing on May 13, 2026, accompanied by CEOs from Nvidia, Apple, Tesla, and others, signals intent to advance US business interests amid discussions on trade, Taiwan, and Iran, fostering expectations of warm diplomatic optics. Shorter durations trail as historical patterns show Trump's extended handshakes with world leaders, like Macron's 29 seconds, while no-handshake odds remain negligible given protocol norms. The market awaits filmed evidence from the bilateral meeting expected imminently.
