Incumbent Republican Andrew Clyde secured his party’s nomination outright in the May 2026 primary with roughly 76 percent of the vote, while Democrat Caitlyn Gegen also advanced without a runoff. The northeast Georgia district remains strongly Republican-leaning, as evidenced by Clyde’s 69 percent share in the 2024 general election. With only two major-party candidates on the November 3, 2026 ballot and no significant third-party challengers reported, historical voting patterns and the absence of competitive primary dynamics point to a high probability that the leading candidate will exceed the 50 percent threshold required to avoid a runoff under Georgia election rules. Trader consensus at 92 percent for an outright first-round winner aligns with this structural advantage and the limited time remaining for major shifts before Election Day.
