Missouri voters will decide November 3, 2026, on a veto referendum (Proposition A) that would uphold or repeal the 2025 Republican-drawn congressional map enacted mid-decade. The Missouri Supreme Court unanimously ruled September 3 that the citizen petition qualified for the ballot after over 300,000 signatures were submitted, ordering the secretary of state to certify the measure and barring use of the new lines until voters approve them. The map, passed during a special session and aimed at shifting the Kansas City-area seat, reverts to prior boundaries for the general election pending the outcome. Conflicting federal rulings and a U.S. Supreme Court denial of a stay have kept the process in flux, with trader consensus reflecting skepticism that voters will ratify the partisan boundaries over the established plan.
