Incumbent Democratic Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar holds an 83.5% implied probability in this November 3, 2026, rematch against Republican Jim Marchant, who sits at 10.5%. Aguilar’s position stems from his 2022 narrow victory, uncontested Democratic primary, and roughly $1 million cash advantage reported in July filings, contrasted with Marchant’s near-zero reserves. Marchant secured the GOP nomination in June after defeating better-funded rivals including the governor’s preferred candidate, yet his platform emphasizing voter roll resets, paper ballots, and hand counts has not narrowed the gap. Nonpartisan forecasts rate the race Likely Democratic, aligning with trader consensus that the fundraising and incumbency edges outweigh the challenger’s primary momentum.
