Dan Patrick, the Republican incumbent since 2015, secured his party's nomination with over 84 percent in the March 2026 primary, positioning him as the clear frontrunner in trader assessments for the November 3 general election. Vikki Goodwin, the Democratic nominee after her May runoff victory, trails in recent polling at roughly 35-41 percent support against Patrick's 42-47 percent, reflecting Texas's longstanding Republican advantage in statewide contests and Patrick's established Senate leadership role. Minor-party candidates including Libertarian Anthony Cristo and Green Party's Kevin McCormick register negligible shares, while the overall market pricing aligns with historical patterns favoring incumbents in this office amid limited late-cycle shifts in voter sentiment or campaign developments.
