Jannik Sinner heads into the Italian Open semifinal as the clear market leader thanks to his record 32 consecutive Masters 1000 victories and four straight wins over Daniil Medvedev, including the Indian Wells final. The world No. 1 extended that streak with a straight-sets quarterfinal win over Andrey Rublev but briefly showed left-leg discomfort late in the second set. Medvedev, a former Rome champion, reached the semifinals via a three-set comeback against Martin Landaluce and brings strong clay-court experience plus a historically competitive head-to-head. Sinner’s pursuit of the career Golden Masters and status as the first Italian men’s champion in decades further solidify trader confidence, though the best-of-three format on clay leaves room for Medvedev to exploit any physical limitations.
