Pavel Kotov enters this Busan Challenger first-round matchup as the clear trader favorite due to his established ATP pedigree as a former top-50 player and stronger recent form on hard courts. The Russian has compiled an impressive win streak in Challenger events, leveraging consistent baseline play and experience in longer rallies. Yi Zhou, a Chinese prospect with solid hard-court statistics, has shown competitive results at this level but lacks Kotov's depth in high-stakes encounters. Their limited head-to-head favors Kotov, and situational factors such as Zhou's relative inexperience against seasoned opponents on outdoor hard courts further tilt market sentiment. Traders are pricing in Kotov's ability to control points early, though any physical issues could quickly shift momentum in the faster Busan conditions.
