Recent polling and nonpartisan ratings shifts have edged Democratic candidates ahead in the core four 2026 Senate contests in Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Maine, supporting the 57% trader consensus for a sweep. In North Carolina’s open seat, former Governor Roy Cooper holds a 50-42 lead over Republican Michael Whatley in the latest High Point University survey, while Georgia incumbent Jon Ossoff moved into Lean Democratic territory in updated Crystal Ball assessments. Fresh surveys in Michigan’s open contest and Maine’s race against Susan Collins also show modest Democratic advantages amid typical midterm headwinds for the party holding the White House. Upcoming primaries in these battlegrounds and continued fundraising trends remain key variables that could alter the closely balanced outlook before November.

A candidate will be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) will not count. Candidates who run as independents will not be considered a Democrat, regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call all relevant races for the same candidate. If all three sources don’t call a relevant race for the same candidate, this market will use the official certification of the election results for resolution.
