This market will resolve according to the team that finishes second in Group G in the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage, scheduled for June 11-27, 2026. If multiple teams tie for second place, this market will resolve according to the official tiebreak procedure of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. If the World Cup group stage is cancelled, postponed after July 11, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no second-place team declared for this group within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA (https://www.fifa.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Belgium's status as group favorites keeps the fight for second place wide open between Egypt and Iran, with traders assigning roughly even implied probabilities around 47-50% to Egypt or related outcomes while Iran sits near 23%. Egypt brings strong organization and attacking options, while Iran's defensive resilience and counter-attacking style have historically troubled higher-ranked sides in World Cup groups. New Zealand trails at 11% as the clear underdog against this trio. With all four sides yet to play and no major injuries or form shifts reported in the final pre-tournament window, the tight pricing reflects balanced squad quality and the realistic chance any of the top three could finish runner-up depending on opening results in Seattle and Los Angeles.
