Spain and France lead the 2026 FIFA World Cup field as the top favorites entering the expanded 48-team tournament, backed by strong recent form in qualifiers and friendlies plus mostly intact squads. Key injury absences have hit contenders like Brazil and the Netherlands harder than the frontrunners, whose depth supports navigating group stage and knockout rounds without losses. Trader consensus at 73.5% for an unbeaten champion reflects the historical tendency for elite sides to post clean records en route to the title, combined with limited early signs of widespread upsets among the leading nations. Schedule congestion and potential fatigue remain variables that could shift outcomes in later stages.
