The September 20, 2026 Berlin state election to the Abgeordnetenhaus remains closely contested, with trader consensus reflecting a fragmented field where no party is projected to secure a majority and the governing mayor will emerge from coalition negotiations. Elif Eralp of Die Linke holds the highest implied probability near 40%, followed by CDU's Stefan Evers and Greens' Werner Graf, as recent polls show Die Linke and CDU nearly level while SPD and AfD candidates lag. The race tightened after incumbent Kai Wegner stepped aside in July amid criticism of the government's handling of a major power outage, elevating Finance Senator Stefan Evers as the CDU lead candidate. Developments such as shifts in turnout among key voting blocs, campaign events, or early coalition signals ahead of the vote could alter the balance before the Abgeordnetenhaus selects the next governing mayor.
