Recent National Weather Service forecasts for San Francisco point to a high near 84–87°F on September 9 under partly cloudy skies with light northwest winds, following an 81°F reading on September 7 that already exceeded seasonal norms. This above-average warmth stems from reduced marine-layer influence and stronger daytime heating, though model runs still diverge on exact cloud timing and onshore flow strength that could cap temperatures in the mid-80s or allow brief pushes into the low 90s. Historical September 9 highs average around 70°F, with records near 100°F, underscoring the unusual late-summer setup. With market-implied odds tightly clustered between 90–93°F and 88–89°F, traders appear to weigh residual forecast uncertainty and microclimate variations across official stations more heavily than the current consensus guidance, ahead of final observations that will resolve the market.
