Trader sentiment centers on National Weather Service and ensemble model consensus for mostly clear skies over Seattle on September 16, driven by a building high-pressure ridge promoting subsidence and strong daytime radiative heating. Light northerly winds will limit marine air intrusion while allowing temperatures to climb from morning lows near 52–55°F. This setup favors a daily maximum in the low-to-mid 70s, aligning with the market’s tight clustering around 72–75°F and the September climatological average high of 70.6°F. Minor model spread in boundary-layer mixing and exact cloud cover keeps the two leading bins closely matched, with only limited upside risk from unexpected warming or downside from lingering marine stratus.
